Paul Clough
Senior Lecturer, Information School, University of Sheffield
Paul Clough is a Senior Lecturer in the Information School at the University of Sheffield. He received a B.Eng. (hons) degree in Computer Science from the University of York in 1998 and a Ph.D. from the University of Sheffield in 2002. His research interests mainly revolve around developing technologies to assist people with accessing and managing information. Paul is co-author of a book on multilingual information retrieval and contributed to over 90 peer-reviewed publications.

Susan Farrell
Head of Web & Mobile Services, Information Services Division, University College London, UK
Susan Farrell is Head of Web & Mobile Services at UCL’sInformation Services Division, helping staff across UCL to build and manage their websites. Susan joined UCL in October 2011 following two years as a web consultant working with companies to help them optimise their web presence. Before that, she was Head of Web and Portal Services at King’s College London.

Charlie Hull
Managing Director, Flax
Charlie Hull runs Flax, specialists in all aspects of search technology based in Cambridge, U.K. Flax have been developing powerful search applications based on open source software for clients including The Financial Times, media monitors Gorkana, UK Government and Reed Specialist Recruitment since 2001. Charlie also runs the Cambridge Search Meetup and London Lucene/Solr Usergroup and regularly talks and writes on search-related subjects.

Agnes Molnar
CEO, Search Explained
Agnes Molnar works as independent consultant with a strong focus on Enterprise Search and Information Management, and has been awarded as Microsoft SharePoint Server MVP since 2008, though her expertise extends beyond SharePoint, with years of experience with connected backend systems. 
She has co-authored and contributed to several books and e-books, and she's a regular speaker at various events, conferences and workshops around the globe. On her blog (http://aghy.hu), she provides excellent articles and guidance covering Enterprise Search and Content Management best practices.

Kristian Norling
Founder & CEO, Norling & Company


Kristian is a partner at IntraTeam - knowledge sharing and conferences about the digital workplace and intranets.  Previously, Kristian worked at Findwise and before that as an IT strategist and product owner of Enterprise Search at Region Västra Götaland. Kristian has been working with intranet and internet portals, websites and search in many different roles, each with its own challenges. Starting out as an non-techie communications officer, where the web was only one of many communication channels ending up as an IT strategist, working in the intersection of business, technology and communication. Always with a pragmatic and practical focus on the benefits of technology for people in the digital workplace.



Valentin Richter
CEO, Raytion GmbH
Valentin Richter is managing director and founder of Raytion, an internationally IT business consultancy focused on enterprise search. Prior to consulting Global 500 companies he worked for Trinkaus & Burkhardt, a private bank which is now owned by HSBC. Valentin has studied mathematics and information sciences.

Dr Tony Russell-Rose
Managing Director, UXLabs, and co-author of Designing the Search Experience
Director of UXLabs, a research and design consultancy specialising in complex search and information access applications. Before founding UXLabs Tony was Manager of User Experience at Endeca and editor of the Endeca UI Design Pattern Library, an online resource dedicated to best practice in the design of search and discovery experiences. Prior to this Tony was technical lead at Reuters, specialising in advanced user interfaces for information access and search. And before Reuters Tony was R&D group manager at Canon Research Centre Europe, where he led a team developing next generation information access products and services. Earlier professional experience includes a Royal Academy of Engineering fellowship at HP Labs and a Short-term Research Fellowship at BT Labs.

Tony's academic qualifications include a PhD in human-computer interaction, an MSc in cognitive psychology and a first degree in engineering, majoring in human factors. He also holds the position of Honorary Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Interactive Systems Research, City University, London and is currently vice-chair of the BCS Information Retrieval group and chair of the IEHF Human-Computer Interaction group.
